About Joon

Joon Song handles all aspects of corporate and commercial litigation, and has deep experience in every stage of litigation, from initiating pleadings, conducting discovery, engaging in motions practice, and preparing for trial. Joon has drafted writs and appellate briefs submitted to the California Court of Appeals, and is well-versed in conducting legal analysis, including researching legislative history and issues of first impression.


Prior to joining BizCounsel, Joon was a senior associate at a boutique Century City litigation firm in which he represented clients on a variety of matters including partnership disputes, business litigation, and real estate litigation. He also spent nearly eight years with another boutique firm in Los Angeles and represented Fortune 5, 100, and 500 companies in the public utility, energy, and advertising industries. His practice at both firms was wide-ranging and involved advising his clients on matters as diverse as wrongful foreclosures and shareholder derivative lawsuits, personal injury and products liability defense, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, breaches of contract, Federal and California credit reporting act violations, and applications of the Public Utility Code and Commercial Code.


Joon double-majored in political science and public health at the University of California, Berkeley, and received his JD from The George Washington University Law School, where he was a managing editor of The George Washington International Law Review and an intern to the Honorable Donald F. Parsons of the Delaware Court of Chancery. Joon is admitted to practice in California, the Eastern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.


Joon is also engaged in his community and is active with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Asian Business Association. In his free time, he enjoys photography and writing and is studying to be a certified sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers.
