UCLA Law Trained Injury Lawyers in North Hollywood

If you were injured in North Hollywood, the insurance company on the other side of your claim isn't neutral. They assigned an adjuster before you left the hospital. Their job, specifically, is to pay as little as possible: questioning your injuries, disputing who was at fault, or making a fast offer before you know what your case is actually worth.

The attorney you hire in the next few days matters more than most people realize, not just for your settlement amount, but for whether critical evidence gets preserved, whether all responsible parties get named, and whether the medical record supporting your claim gets built correctly from the start.

A local attorney, not a remote firm

A Valley Native in Your Corner

Tiki No, the Federal Bar, the whole Lankershim strip: I've spent a lot of time in NoHo. I grew up in Woodland Hills, went to El Camino Real, and graduated from UCLA Law. I know how the 170 feeds onto Magnolia and how Lankershim backs up near Chandler. When someone gets hurt in North Hollywood, I don't need to look it up.

Hyper-local knowledge

Why North Hollywood Cases Are Different

This is the local knowledge that shapes how we approach your case from day one: the courts where it will be heard, the roads where it happened, the properties with prior incident history. Most firms would need to look this up.

Pitfire Pizza corner in the NoHo Arts District, North Hollywood CAColorful modern building on Lankershim Blvd, NoHo Arts DistrictNorth Hollywood Park recreation center
NoHo Arts District pedestrian and cyclist density

The NoHo Arts District draws heavy foot and bike traffic along Lankershim Boulevard. Pedestrian crosswalk violations, dooring incidents, and rideshare vehicle conflicts are consistently reported in this corridor.

170/101 interchange crashes

The merge between the 170 and US-101 is one of the highest-collision interchanges in the eastern Valley. Lane changes at speed, short merge distances, and heavy commuter volume drive rear-end and sideswipe crashes.

Metro Red Line station area

The North Hollywood Metro station generates constant pedestrian activity at Lankershim and Chandler. Transit riders crossing multiple lanes of traffic face elevated collision risk, especially during evening hours.

Insurance company tactics

Insurers know that unrepresented claimants settle for less. An experienced local attorney changes the calculus: we document your injuries, preserve evidence quickly, and counter lowball offers with litigation-ready demands.

Before you call anyone

Most Firms Will Take Your Case.
Few Will Actually Fight For It.

From the moment a claim is filed, the other side is building a case against yours. Adjusters document inconsistencies, make early offers designed to be accepted, and count on injured people to take less than they deserve. Most personal injury firms respond by loading up their docket: you get assigned to a paralegal, your calls go unanswered, and your case settles fast because the firm needs to move on.

We built L&F Brown differently.

  • You talk to a founding partner. Not intake staff, not a junior associate. A UCLA Law-trained senior attorney who handles your case personally from first call to resolution.
  • We limit our caseload on purpose. More cases means less attention. We take fewer so every client gets the time and resources their case actually requires.
  • We don't settle until the number is right. Insurance companies know which firms fold early. We're not one of them, and they know it.

Evidence fades. Deadlines are real. The sooner you have an attorney building your case, the better your position. This is our personal commitment to every client we take on.

What We Know About North Hollywood That Affects Your Case

  • Metro Red Line transit hub:The North Hollywood Metro station is a major transit endpoint. Pedestrians crossing Lankershim and Chandler face collision risk from vehicles, buses, and rideshare drivers navigating the station area.
  • Lankershim corridor commercial strip:A dense commercial corridor with restaurants, bars, and retail. Rideshare pickups, valet zones, and double-parked delivery vehicles create hazards for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Valley Plaza hub:Valley Plaza and the surrounding commercial zone generate significant vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Parking lot incidents and premises liability claims are well-documented at this location.
  • Van Nuys Courthouse proximity:North Hollywood injury cases typically file at Van Nuys Courthouse West. We know the dockets, the judges, and how San Fernando Valley juries respond to injury cases.

Dangerous corridors

North Hollywood Roads Where Crashes Happen

Local road patterns determine what evidence we seek, which defendants we name, and how we frame fault. These are the corridors in North Hollywood where crashes concentrate.

  • high
    170 Freeway (North Hollywood section)

High-speed commuter freeway connecting the Valley to Hollywood. The 170/101 interchange forces aggressive merges and lane changes, producing frequent rear-end and sideswipe collisions.

  • high
    Lankershim Blvd (NoHo Arts District)

Dense pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle traffic through the arts district. Rideshare pickups, restaurant valet zones, and crosswalk violations make this one of the most collision-prone surface streets in the eastern Valley.

  • moderate
    Magnolia Blvd

East-west residential and commercial corridor with heavy cross-traffic at major intersections. Rear-end collisions and T-bone crashes at signalized intersections are common during rush hours.

  • moderate
    Burbank Blvd

High-volume east-west arterial connecting North Hollywood to Burbank and the 170 Freeway. Speed differentials and heavy turning movements create consistent collision risk.

  • moderate
    Vineland Ave

Major north-south connector linking North Hollywood to Studio City and the 101. Commercial vehicle traffic and intersection conflicts at Magnolia and Burbank are frequent crash locations.

Major Car Accidents

Heavy traffic on Lankershim Boulevard and the 170 Freeway during commute hours creates significant congestion. The NoHo Arts District adds pedestrian and rideshare traffic that compounds collision risk. These conditions create dangerous merging zones and congested areas.

City surface streets like Lankershim Boulevard, Magnolia Boulevard, Burbank Boulevard, Vineland Avenue are hotspots for T-bone collisions, rear-end crashes, and pedestrian strikes, especially during rush hours and school drop-off/pick-up times.

What Injury Victims Need to Know

Do I really need an attorney, or can I handle this myself?
You can negotiate directly with an insurance company, but studies consistently show that represented claimants recover significantly more, even after attorney fees. Insurers have adjusters and lawyers whose job is to minimize your payout. An attorney levels that playing field, documents your damages properly, and knows what your case is actually worth. We've handled cases for North Hollywood residents and know how adjusters respond to claims on Lankershim Boulevard, the 170, and the NoHo Arts District. The consultation is free and there's no fee unless we win.
What is the statute of limitations for a personal injury claim in California?
Under CCP § 335.1, you generally have 2 years from the date of injury to file a lawsuit. If a government entity was involved, you must file a Government Claims Act notice within 6 months. North Hollywood cases typically file at Van Nuys Courthouse West or the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown LA depending on the facts. We know both venues. Acting quickly also helps preserve evidence.
What if I was partly at fault for the accident?
California follows pure comparative negligence (Li v. Yellow Cab Co., 1975). Even if you were partially at fault, you can still recover damages reduced by your percentage of fault. For example, if you were involved in a crash on Lankershim Boulevard or the 170 and were also cited, that doesn't eliminate your right to recover; it may just reduce it. Insurance companies routinely try to inflate your fault percentage. Having an attorney prevents this.
What damages can I recover?
You may be entitled to: medical expenses (past and future), lost wages and lost earning capacity, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and property damage. In cases involving egregious conduct, punitive damages may also be available.
Do I need to go to court?
Most personal injury cases settle before trial. However, we prepare every case as if it will go to trial, which consistently produces stronger settlements. If a fair offer isn't made, we are fully prepared to take your case to trial at Van Nuys Courthouse West or Stanley Mosk.
