About Curt

Mr. Brown is one of the founding partners of L&F Brown and currently serves as the firm’s Managing Partner and General Counsel.

Mr. Brown’s practice focuses on legal ethics and the business of law. He is one of the country’s foremost experts on the ethics of attorney fee splitting and the ethical implications of legal tech. Mr. Brown also has a robust business transactional and litigation practice where he handles a wide variety of matters on behalf of innovators and disruptors.


Mr. Brown started his legal career in the Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella LLP, where his practice focused on a variety of complex civil litigation matters, including securities class action defense, antitrust, and trademarks.


Mr. Brown earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he was a Michael T. Masin Scholar and Staff Editor of the Entertainment Law Review. He is admitted in California, New York, Texas, Florida, D.C., Washington, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon and Michigan.


Mr. Brown has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers multiple times. He’s also been recognized as a California Lawyer of the Year (CLAY Award) by The Daily Journal, and Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the USC Law School Public Interest Law Fund.


Mr. Brown is adjunct faculty at DePaul College of Law in Chicago, Illinois where he teaches courses on legal ethics and the business of law.


When Mr. Brown isn’t at work he enjoys woodworking and spending time with his wife, daughter and golden retriever Mochi.
